Peter Buh started his law career fighting for crime victims as a prosecutor in
the Winnebago County State's Attorney’s Office. He now brings that
insight and perspective to fight for those who have been charged with a
crime. His experience as a former prosecutor allows him the unique
advantage of seeing the case from the perspective of the police and
prosecutors who are trying to bring charges against alleged offenders.
Before pursuing his law degree, Peter earned undergraduate degrees in
the areas of economics at the University of Illinois.
While attending law school at the Washington University, Peter's spark of interest in becoming a trial attorney ignited into a
passion. Before graduating he was chosen to work in the Cook County State's Attorney's Office, where he won his first felony trial while still a student in law school. These natural skills quickly blossomed into a career as a
trial attorney. Buh then continued his career as an Assistant
Attorney General for the State of Illinois where he was lead counsel in
numerous jury trials throughout the state.
A passion for justice and the belief that everyone deserves a second
chance is what led Peter Buh to pursue private practice. He
understands that hard work and preparation are what it takes to
successfully win a case at trial. Buh also understands that
people sometimes find themselves in a situation that requires a trusted
criminal defense attorney.
As a former prosecutor, Buh knows the essential elements that the
prosecution is looking for to gain a conviction and he will use his dual
experience of Illinois’ tough criminal laws to plan the defensive
strategy that will achieve the best possible outcome in each case. DUI law is highly complicated. Peter Buh has extensive courtroom experience in both prosecuting and defending DUI cases in Illinois. If you received a DUI in DeKalb County, contact DeKalb County DUI Attorney
